With this web page we want to give you and our members the means to get in contact with bearers of the name, relatives and other interested persons on a worldwide basis. In 1989, on the occasion of the acceptance of a family crest the Dettlings living in Mühlbach near Eppingen, Germany founded the Dettling Community. Researching the origins and history of our name as well as developing the unity between all bearers of the name are our main objectives. Meanwhile the community consists of more than 60 members from all over Germany, from France (Alsace), Switzerland, Austria and USA. Numerous Dettling-Meetings, joint excursions, the yearly Dettling-Magazine unite the members and promote personal relationships and the creation of new contacts.

Family trip on September 24th, 2023 - Attention date change!!

For our family outing in 2023, I chose the Hohenlohe open-air museum for us.

It offers its visitors 70 historic buildings on a 40 hectare site. As a guide, you can get an overview plan at the museum ticket office (admission 10 €) in which two circular routes are suggested.

The small circular route leads mainly through the Hohenlohe village. If you decide to take the large circular route (it is indicated as 45 minutes and, depending on the length of time you stay, it is definitely suitable for a leisurely walk), you will pass the Steigenhaus, get to the Waldberge via the winegrowing village and finally, after the Mühlental, you will also reach the Hohenlohe village . Equipped with facilities that are true to the original, the buildings invite you to explore them. Farms, craftsmen's houses, workshops, barns, mills, chapels, schoolhouses, train stations, prisons, all of them and much more are waiting to be discovered. Fields and gardens that are cultivated with historical ornamental and useful plants, as well as hundreds of animals that used to be part of village life, make a visit to the open-air museum a special event. Food and beverages are also taken care of, there is a museum inn "Red Ox" and a broom economy in the winegrowing village.

Besuch der Burg Hohennagold am 05.09.21

Bei schönem spätsommerlichen Wetter trafen sich einige Dettlings für eine kleine Wanderung auf der Burgruine Hohennagold. Jürgen mit Hund Bubba, Andrea Hilde, Dieter, Alexandra, Jörg, Egon, Karin, Marga und Karl Josef waren mit dabei, um das große Familientreffen für 2022 zu planen.

Diese mittelalterliche Burgruine liegt markant und weithin sichtbar über der Stadt Nagold. Sie gehört zu den schönsten und größten Burgruinen im Land.
Den Fußweg zur Hohennagold hatten Karl Josef und Egon schon im voraus erkundet und dieser führte uns nun durch ein Naturschutzgebiet bis in den Burghof hinauf.
In einem kleinen Pavillon gab es Getränke und so konnten wir bei einer kühlen Erfrischung unsere Themen besprechen.
Nach getaner Arbeit genossen wir die herrliche Aussicht, erkundeten etwas das alte Gemäuer und spazierten wieder zurück in die Altstadt.
Mittlerweile meldete sich bei uns ein kleiner Hunger und so suchten wir uns einen Italiener um in einer gemütlichen Runde etwas zu essen.
Am frühen Nachmittag verabschiedeten wir uns und fuhren wieder nach Hause.
